IIT-B blacklists US based MNC

Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) has blacklisted a US-based mobile games developer from their placement process this year.
The MNC has been blacklisted for 1 year for not adhering to the norms laid down by the placement cell. Sources from IIT-B reveal that blacklisting is a usual process on the campus although this blacklisted company could have extended an offer of $ 1, 10,000 per annum to the students.
The sources reveal that the US based company had tried to make an offer to the students directly whereas the procedure requires the company to contact the placement department first. The companies are not allowed to contact the students directly. However, the students can contact the company directly after placements but the placement cell will have no role to play in the whole process.
The placement authorities stated that they have laid down a set of policies for the companies and those have to be followed strictly by them. Recruiters who breach these policies will be blacklisted.
This year, till now only 1 company has been blacklisted for duration of 1 year. Next year, this company can participate again in placement process.
